This way the "search on input focus lost" isn't that irritating.

This way the "search on input focus lost" isn't that irritating.

- fix broken input field (refreshed after every keypress)
- fix database options show (select value wasn't updated)
- fix tabs active show (database selected caused tab to be inactive)

Instead of modifying state (which causes rerendering and removal of
current selection), we use refs.

This has the drawback of delayed popup showing, unfortunately (this
happens when backend send the periodic PUT message).
